The Lindow Wall Clock is a traditional style clock. This sold wood timepiece has a rounded pediment with a floral pattern carved underneath.
The clock has a 31 day mechanical movement. So every month the clock will need to be wound up via the keys turns on the face of the clock.
The glass door can be opened via a catch on the side to reveal the brass lacquered pedulum and striking hammer. Down the sides of the clock there are also glass panels where the mechanism can be viewed.
This clock chimes once on the half hour and then again on the hour. The number of chimes on the hour corresponds with the number of hours, i.e. 4 O'clock - 4 chimes. The metal hammer strikes the rounded rods giving a deep rich 'bong' rather than a chime.
Please note the floral pattern imprinted on the glass door around the pendulum, and the grooves carved into the sides of the case with raised corner squares.
The height of the clock is 64cm
The width of the clock is 29cm
The clock comes with full operating instructions.
Please note if you do not wish to have the chimes then these can be turned off by not winding up the left hand key turn on the face of the clock, although the clock will come pre-wound to a certain extent so the clock may chime for a couple of weeks or so. The right hand key turn powers the clock mechanism and pendulum.
